She has been ill with gastritis and we have been worried about her. She is slowly acting more like herself.

Make A Change Blog: “[Cinderella] heard the clock strike eleven and three-quarters … and hurried away…” “Cinderella” by Charles Perrault
While it is important to recognize these major life events, we should not focus on them as what we’ve lost never to regain. This turns time into our enemy, stealing into our lives and taking away what is most precious.
Instead, we must view them as part of life’s continuum, a band of hours, days and years that stretches both ways—forward as well as back.
And while we need to make the most of what time we have been granted, sometimes the way to do that is to stop and enjoy the moment. Otherwise, we will lose our “glass slipper”—the joy of what is—because we are too afraid of losing what might be.

Laundry Basket
One day while doing laundry I put my granddaughter Grace in a basket on top of some clothes. She started out upright but somehow slid down to a laying down position.

Desiderata
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

A friend gave me a copy of this poem years ago when I was going through a divorce and it still brings me solace during tough times today.

Border Collie Dances To "Hooray For Hollywood"
It is hard to detect the commands from the trainer; sometimes those are very obvious. This is a unique routine and many of the different moves fit in with the Charlie Chaplin theme very well.
Carolyn Scott & Rookie
This also is a favorite video of mine. So much joy and affection shown through dance and music. Carolyn Scott and Rookie her golden retriever dancing to, "Your The One That I Want". Hoo hoo hoo

Big Bloody Ad For Carlton Beer
This is hilarious. Beer commercials are some of the best. I usually like British ads of anything, my kind of humor.
Christian The Lion
This story fascinates me. Two guys during the 60s in London buy a lion cub for what would be four grand today. They are able to return it to Africa to live free. The video has gone viral and there are several versions. It is still one of my favorites it moves me every time I watch it.

Gifts For The Grandbaby
1. Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether Sophie is my grandaughter's favorite toy. It's cute, great for teething, easy for little fingers to hold.
Granddaughter Grace holding her toy.
2. Plush Troy Golden Retriever 9" This is just the right size for babies and it is washable too. Douglas Cuddle Toys have a large line of cute, well made, stuffed toys.
Granddaughter Emma Jean looking at her dog.
3. Elizabeth Mitchell's Music This is great music that both you and your baby will enjoy.
4. Graco's Bumper Jumper I was nostalgic about this type of toy because I had one when I was a baby. We enjoy watching our granddaughter play in this as much as she enjoys playing in it!
Granddaughter Grace in her jumper.
5. The Original Rubber Duck Toy for the Bath by Rich Frog When my oldest daughter was a baby she had several favorite rubber toys like this one. I still have one and it is marked "Lanco" made in France. I was delighted to find this toy again for my granddaughters. It is great for babies (and dogs!) because it is very soft, easy to hold and it squeaks. It is sold as a bath toy but they like to play with it out of the tub.

5. Frog Ribbit 7 Inch Playground Ball by Crocodile Creek
This is a classic toy and it comes in different colors, designs and sizes. The manufacture suggests for ages one month to 99 years for the 5 inch ball!

Dogblog
Do we understand, as a people, why short-haired breeds just won't ever be completely awesome? When I think about a dog, I picture a couple of shaggy dudes like this who I can run up to and ruffle, some real fuzzy guys who I'll never have to put a sweater on. You know what I'm saying?
I love this guy's blog. He walks around in San Francisco and takes pictures of dogs (usually tied) waiting on their masters. He writes the most hilarious commentary for each dog picture.

Bubbly
I was driving home from a visit with my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter in Atlanta recently and I heard this happy little song by Colbi Caillat. It made me think of my granddaughters. I smile when I see them and they crinkle their noses at me!

The Best Little Video
I heard Matt being interviewed on NPR one Sunday morning before Prairie Home Companion came on. His story intrigued me. This guy, dancing alone, in all these different countries. When I searched for it on YouTube to view the video it was nothing like I had imagined...this guy really can't dance or at least not as I had pictured it! It is a wonderful, well done, beautiful and uplifting video. The song is great too. You will smile. Watch it in HD.
